The terms that apply to every booking

These terms apply to every booking made with Brú Bar & Hostel. Please read them before you book. Group bookings of ten people or more are covered separately on our group bookings page.

Reservations can only be made with a valid credit or debit card.

Your reservation is made through the Cloudbeds booking engine. Once your booking has been made you will receive a confirmation email with a booking reference number.

Nothing is charged when you book. Your full stay is charged to your card 48 hours before your arrival date, so we can check you in quickly.

Our cancellation policy is 24 hours before your due date of check-in, regardless of when you made the booking.

Any booking cancelled inside 24 hours of the due arrival date will not be refunded.

In the event of a no-show, the first night’s stay is not refunded.

If you booked through a booking site rather than with us, that site’s cancellation terms apply and you should cancel through them.

Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is by 11am. Reception is staffed twenty-four hours, so a late arrival is not a problem.

We require valid photo identification, such as a passport or driving licence, or a €10 deposit for the room keys.

If you arrive before check-in, or your train out is later in the day, you can leave your bag in a locker at reception. Lockers start at €1.

Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and can only be accommodated in either a private room, or a room booked out completely in the reservation.

Rates are per bed for dorm rooms and per room for private rooms. They vary by date. The rate shown when you book is the rate that applies to your booking.

Breakfast, bed linen and WiFi are included. Towel hire and lockers are charged separately, at the prices shown at reception.

The rate you book is the rate you pay. We do not add anything to it at the desk.

Accommodation booked for a specific date is exempt from the fourteen day right to cancel that applies to most online purchases. The cancellation policy above is what applies.

Our house rules form part of these terms. They cover smoking, alcohol, noise, visitors and damage. Please read them before you arrive.

Any damage caused by the action of any guest may result in that guest being liable for the cost of repairs.

A deep cleaning fee of €100 will be charged after smoking, and a deep cleaning fee of €100 will be charged for soiling of a mattress.

We will recover costs associated with refunding guests because of inappropriate behaviour.

Brú Bar and Hostel will accept no liability for the loss or damage of objects not handed to reception for safe keeping. Lockers are available for this reason.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Irish law.

The management and staff reserve the right to refuse admission to the hostel without explanation.

If something is not right, tell reception while you are here. It is almost always fixable on the spot. If you would rather put it in writing, email info@bruhostel.com and we will respond.

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland and subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
