How sixty-eight people share one building

A hostel works because sixty-eight people who have never met agree to a few of the same things. These are ours. They form part of our booking terms, and every group booking is signed off against them by the group leader on arrival.

There is absolutely no smoking in the hostel. Guests violating this rule will be evicted without refund, and a deep cleaning fee of €100 will be charged after smoking.

Alcohol is to be consumed only in the bar. It is not permitted in the rooms. That is a licensing condition as much as a house rule, so there is no flexibility on it.

No excess noise, and no large groups congregating in the rooms or the hostel lounge, as this is unfair on the smaller groups and single guests.

The bar downstairs runs late, which is the point of staying here. Upstairs is for sleeping.

No visitors in the hostel. Meet up in the bar for a coffee or a pint.

Any damage caused by the action of any guest may result in the guest being liable for the cost of repairs. A deep cleaning fee of €100 will be charged for soiling of a mattress.

We will recover costs associated with refunding guests because of inappropriate behaviour.

Brú Bar and Hostel will accept no liability for the loss or damage of objects not handed to reception for safe keeping. Lockers are available, from €1.

Please be respectful of all staff and other guests. No strong language towards anyone will be tolerated.

Follow the direction of all staff at all times.

Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. See our booking terms for which rooms we can put them in.

The management and staff reserve the right to refuse admission to the hostel without explanation.

Reception is staffed twenty-four hours. If something is wrong, or someone is making your stay difficult, come down and tell us. We would much rather sort it at 3am than read about it in a review.
