The room

Six rooms, and they go early.

A private room at Brú is a hostel room with the door closed and a bathroom nobody outside the room uses. It is not a hotel room and we are not going to pretend otherwise, but it costs a fraction of one and it is five minutes from the train.

Six of them in the building, which is why they book out first. Five have the bathroom inside the room. In one the building would not allow it, so the bathroom is directly across the corridor instead and only your room has the key.

Nothing is added to your room rate at the desk. The rate you book is the rate you pay. Bring coins for the lockers, though — the machines don’t give change.

Brú Bar · Ground floor

There’s a band on downstairs tonight. You don’t need a ticket.

Brú Bar is not down the road. It is the ground floor of the building you are sleeping in, with live music five nights a week and all the sport on our big screens. No other hostel in Cork has one.

Show your keycard at the bar if you booked direct and the first half pint of Beamish is on us.
