Sing for your pint

Did someone say free beer? Every Monday the floor is yours. Bring a favourite cover or one of your own, and we’ll have the guitar, mic and stand ready. Play your set, enjoy the applause, and your pint is on us.

Thursday nights are for roots and folk music, played as a relaxed jam session. A good night for a quiet pint and some proper tunes.

Brú Hostel is on the floors above the bar, with dorms and private rooms five minutes’ walk from Kent Station. When the band finishes, you’re a flight of stairs from bed.

Is there a cover charge?

No. Never has been. Every night at Brú Bar is free in.

What time does the music start?

Open mic is from 20:30 on Mondays and the Roots ‘n Folk Jam from 21:00 on Thursdays. Bands start at 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 21:00 on Sundays. Special nights are listed with their own time on the monthly line-up.

How does open mic work?

Every Monday from 20:30. Bring a favourite cover or one of your own songs. We provide the guitar, microphone and stand, and your pint is on us after your set.

What sport do you show?

All of it. Live football, rugby and every big match go on the big screens, with Sky Sports and TNT Sports, whatever night they fall. Ask at the bar what’s showing tonight.

Can I book the bar for a private event?

Yes. We host birthdays, get-togethers and private events, and the bar stays open to the public as normal around you. Call us on +353 (0)21 455 9667 to plan it.

Do you serve food?

There’s pizza on Saturday nights. If you’re staying upstairs, breakfast is free every morning from 07:30 to 10:30.
